Has anyone used this company to purchase one of the short term CDs they have at a higher rate then most banks?

Does not sound like a FDIC-insured bank. A lot of outfits sell things that they represent as a CD but are actually just a corporate note. Check www.money-rates.com for a list of bank CDs that are FDIC-insured.
